In a Textile Finishing and Dyeing Company; Recommended Tests for Dyeing Process


We recommend performing the following tests to ensure full process control in textile companies and to determine the measures that can be taken before possible errors.

In textile dyeing, when the fabric, water and salt that need to be tested other than chemicals are analyzed with the following tests, it will be easier to take precautions before possible mistakes.

A textile cotton fabric (fiber, yarn, etc.) to be dyed should be checked for contamination before it can be dyed. The process efficiency can be evaluated by comparing all processes before and after in terms of necessity and activity result.

 

A) RAW FABRIC TESTS

10 g of fabric is taken and wetted with ethyl alcohol and burned. The ash is added to 100 ml of pure water and heated by adding 1 ml of concentrated HCl. Then it is neutralized with NaOH and filtered with the help of a polyester cloth. (Paper strainers absorb pollution.)

 

The following determinations can be made in the filtrate.

 

1) Determination of Total Hardness

The measurement made with 5 ml contains the hardness the fabric gives to the bathroom in 1/10 float.

Evaluation: It is recommended to use DECOWET BS in high stiffness fabrics so that the stiffness does not settle in the form of bicarbonate or silicate.

 

2) Total Iron Search

Testonic Test Set to be used: Total Iron Analysis Set

The measurement made with 5 ml contains the iron that the fabric gives to the bathroom in 1/10 float.

Evaluation: The use of DECOWET BS is recommended for the prevention of fiber damage and peroxide stabilization in the presence of iron. In cases of more than 10 ppm, demineralization with DECOLIN SQ is recommended.

 

3) Copper Search

Testonic Test Set to be used: Copper Analysis Set

The measurement made with 5 ml contains the copper that the fabric gives to the bathroom in 1/10 float.

Evaluation: The presence of copper in the fabric may cause staining on the surface. In this case, demineralization is recommended with DECOLIN SQ.

 

B) OPERATING WATER TESTS

 

4) Total Hardness Determination

Testonic Test Set to be used: Total Hardness Analysis Set

Softened and raw well water measurements can be made.

Evaluation: For ideal conditions, the hardness of the operating water should be at -0- Zero hardness. When the hardness of the water is high,

Parmesan; DECOWET BS is recommended to prevent hardness from settling as bicarbonate and silicate.

Coating; DECOLIN DC or Decopol Reagent can be used.

 

5) Total Iron Search

Testonic Test Set to be used: Total Iron Analysis Set

Iron measurement can be made in softened water.

Evaluation: In ideal conditions, there should be no iron in the operating water. In its presence, in Kasar; DECOWET BS is recommended for the prevention of fiber damage and peroxide stabilization in the presence of iron. In cases of more than 10 ppm, demineralization with DECOLIN SQ is recommended.

Coating; DECOLIN DC or Decopol Reagent can be used.

 

6) Copper Search

Testonic Test Set to be used: Copper Analysis Set

Copper measurement can be made in softened water.

Evaluation: In the presence of copper, a very low amount of DECOLIN DC can be used for water.

 

7) Silicate Search

Silicate measurement can be done in softened water.

Evaluation: When the amount of silicate is high,

Parmesan; DECOWET BS must be used to prevent crashes.

Me dye; Decopol Reagent can be used for surface unevenness and no collapse.

 

8) Bicarbonate Search

Bicarbonate can be measured in softened water.

Evaluation: When bicarbonate amount is high,

Parmesan; DECOWET BS can be used to avoid crashes.

Me dye; Decopol Reagent can be used to prevent surface unevenness and collapses and to avoid pH change with temperature. In order to avoid pH drops after soda, alkaline with buffer effect in pH = 11 band can be used instead of soda.

 

C) PRE-COLORING TESTS

After the fabric to be dyed is taken into the machine, it is worked for 5 minutes without giving any chemicals. The following tests are performed by taking the float and fabric from the machine.

Fabric;

Following the same method as the raw fabric tests above, the fabric is dried and turned into ash. Likewise, the following tests can be done.

The hardness values ​​that should be in the dyeing liquor are as follows. (It shows the total pollution of the fabric and float.)

 

IDEAL DYEING ENVIRONMENT POLLUTION VALUES

Total Hardness Amount ≈ 3 German Hardness

Total Iron Amount <0.05 ppm

Total Copper Amount <0.05 ppm

Bicarbonate Amount <150 ppm

Silicate Amount - work -

 

If it is above the values ​​specified in your float (total contamination of the fabric and water), it is recommended to use Decopol Reagent to prevent pH changes and to complete the painting equally.

Bicarbonate height; In order to avoid pH drops after soda, alkaline with buffer effect in pH = 11 band can be used instead of soda.

If the total hardness amount is 15 od and the total iron amount is more than 6 ppm, it is recommended to give 0.3 DECOLIN DC together with 1 g / l Decopol Reagent. It can be used alone in 1 g / l DECOLIN DC.

 

 

D) SALT TESTS

The following tests can be done by preparing the salt to be used in the enterprise at 90 g / l of pure water.

 

17) Total Hardness Determination

Total hardness analysis can be done in salt solution.

WARNING: When the hardness measurement in salt is done with conventional water hardness measurement kits, the hardness is approximately 30% less. It is produced to work in electrolyte environment.

Evaluation: The hardness of the salt should be -0- Zero for ideal conditions.

When the salt is higher than 3 od hardness,

Coating; DECOLIN DC or Decopol Reagent can be used.

 

18) Total Iron Search

Iron in salt water can be measured.

Evaluation: For ideal conditions, there should be no iron in salt. If it exists,

Coating; DECOLIN DC or Decopol Reagent can be used.

 

19) Copper Search

Copper can be measured in salt water.

Evaluation: DECOLIN DC or Decopol Reagent can be used for dyeing in the presence of copper.

 

20) Silicate Search
